Complex Care Assistant – Paediatric Care – Gloucester (GL2) Bring comfort, confidence, and joy to a young girl who truly needs your support. Location: Gloucester GL2 Pay: £14.50–£17.50 per hour + 40p per mile (Ltd company rates available) Hours: • Tuesday, Thursday, Sunday: 15:45 to 22:15 • Friday: 4 flexible hours for bandage care • Social hours: 8 flexible hours each week Recruitment Partner: Mash Care, recruiting directly on behalf of a client Why This Role Matters This isn’t just another care job — it’s an opportunity to make a life-changing impact on a young girl living with Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB), a rare condition that makes her skin extremely fragile. What You’ll Do You’ll play a key role in her daily comfort and wellbeing, offering both clinical and emotional support. Your responsibilities will include: Supporting bandage preparation, dressing changes, and monitoring skin health Helping with daily medical needs in a calm, confident manner Offering companionship, conversation, and engagement through hobbies, play, and outings Encouraging independence and supporting her emotional development Working closely with her family to maintain consistent, reassuring care Responding with patience, empathy, and steadiness in moments of anxiety or discomfort This is meaningful work — the kind you go home from knowing you made a real difference. Who You Are You are warm, steady, and able to bring both skill and kindness to your role. You’ll ideally have: Experience in complex care or paediatrics, including wound management A calm, confident, emotionally intelligent approach An understanding of patience, empathy, and trust-building A natural ability to connect with children and support their wellbeing A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle Willingness to learn, adapt, and grow in the role Experience supporting anxiety or mental health is helpful, but above all, your compassion and reliability are what matter most.
