About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Freelance Site Engineer to support our team on a specialist shaft construction project in Stroud. This position is ideal for an engineer who is confident working independently, providing reliable technical support and accurate setting out on a busy civil engineering site.
Key Responsibilities

Deliver precise setting out for shaft construction and associated civils
*
Provide day-to-day technical support to site management
*
Maintain accurate site records, QA documentation, and as-built information
*
Liaise with project managers, supervisors, and subcontractors
*
Ensure compliance with project health, safety, and environmental requirements
Requirements
*
Essential: Strong and proven setting out experience within a civil engineering environment
*
Competency using total stations, GPS and digital surveying tools
*
Ability to work independently and take ownership of engineering duties
*
Solid understanding of drawings, specifications, and site processes
*
CSCS card (Engineer/Professional)
*
Own laptop, surveying kit or software beneficial but not essential
