ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Specialist Tutor to support students in Havering who are unable to attend school. As a 1:1 tutor, you will design and deliver bespoke educational packages tailored to each students individual needs, aiming to bridge educational gaps and boost engagement. This role offers a flexible, personalised teaching environment outside the traditional classroom setting, making it ideal for experienced educators seeking a more individualised approach. You will be working with students who have often been out of education for a significant period, leading to low confidence and poor engagement. Your main responsibility will be to re-engage these young learners, restore their confidence, and provide structure to their learning routines. Prospero Teaching will work closely with you to monitor progress and ensure effective educational outcomes. The role requires working with students with a range of complex needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH difficulties, and specific learning disabilities. CONTRACT/POSITION DETAILS Location: Various locations across Salford Position: SEN Specialist Tutor Type of work: Contract Start date: ASAP Duration: Dependent on the needs of each student Contract type: Temporary Full-time/Part-time: Flexible (both part-time and full-time options available) Rate of pay: GBP25 per hour (depending on experience) Hours: Flexible, ranging from 1 to 3 hours per session TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications and experience: Qualifications: QTS, QTLS, PGCE, or equivalent (specialist SEN training is highly desirable) Experience: At least 6 months experience working with students, particularly those with SEN (special educational needs) Experience with Specific Needs: Experience supporting students with ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and other learning difficulties Safeguarding: Up-to-date Safeguarding training (issued in the last year, desirable but not essential) TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST: Hold Right to Work in the UK Have an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate, or be willing to apply for a new one Provide two professional child-related references covering the last two years If you are interested in this role, please send your up-to-date CV.
