The Role
We are recruiting a degree-qualified Teaching Assistant to work in a secondary school in Ealing. This is a full-time, long-term position, ideal for a graduate looking to gain valuable experience supporting pupils aged 11-16 (or 11-18) in a secondary school setting.
You will work closely with teachers and pastoral staff to support students academically, socially, and behaviourally, both in class and through targeted interventions.
Key Responsibilities
Supporting students in KS3 and KS4 classrooms
Providing 1:1 and small group support across core subjects
Assisting teachers with lesson delivery and classroom management
Supporting pupils with SEN, EAL, or behavioural needs
Helping students stay focused, engaged, and on task
Supporting behaviour management in line with school policies
Preparing learning materials and resources
Promoting a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment
Supervising students during transitions, break, or lunch when requiredEssential Requirements
Degree educated (mandatory)
A strong interest in secondary education
Confident, calm, and professional manner
Ability to manage behaviour and build rapport with teenagers
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Full-time availability, Monday to Friday
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)Previous experience in a secondary school, youth work, tutoring, or mentoring is advantageous but not essential.
