We are looking for a Learning Support Assistant in Cheddar. This work is available 5 days a week and the hours are 8:30-15:30. No previous experience is required, as you will learn 'on the job'. The children identified have a variety of SEND needs, mostly autism. We can provide some training, but initiative and resilience are key skills needed for this type of work. Working closely with teaching staff, you will support the pupil during the day with their lessons, and also in their interactions with their peers. You would be using Autism Teaching Techniques such as "Now and Next". This work is one-to-one, working with one identified pupil. However, at times, there will be a need for you to work with a small group of children; for example to help with reading.
