Role Purpose To ensure the council remains fully compliant with statutory and regulatory responsibilities relating to Fire Safety and Asbestos Management across its housing stock. The postholder will manage safety programmes, maintain accurate compliance data, oversee contractor performance, and ensure residents’ homes meet all relevant building safety requirements. Key Responsibilities * Manage the delivery of the Fire Risk Assessment (FRA) programme, ensuring timely completion, quality assurance, and closure of remedial actions. * Maintain the Asbestos Register and ensure surveys, re-inspections, and removal works comply with the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012. * Inspect blocks and schemes to monitor fire safety standards and compliance with FRA recommendations. * Act as technical lead for fire doors, compartmentation, alarms, emergency lighting and passive/active fire safety systems. * Review fire safety documentation from contractors and challenge...
