Purpose:Support the maintenance, repair, and inspection of the council's vehicle fleet to ensure safety, compliance, and cost-efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain and repair vehicles, plant, and equipment safely and effectively, including electric/hybrid systems.
Conduct MOT tests (Class 4, 5 & 7) and perform vehicle inspections for roadworthiness.
Diagnose faults, order parts, and carry out repairs to meet legislative and safety standards.
Support fleet compliance with legal requirements, including operator's licenses and safety regulations.
Assist with workshop administration and update IT systems like Fleetwave™.
Provide roadside assistance and off-site repairs when needed.
Follow health and safety policies, ensuring a safe working environment.
Contribute to continuous improvement, team performance, and operational efficiency.
Support the council's operator's license and work flexible hours, including weekends and standby shifts.
