Contracted to a large Pharmaceutical supplier to review their existing IBM MQ Infrastructure and recommend changes and implement them. These include assisting with a High Availability solution, tightening of security, enabling MQ Monitoring, Event gathering plus other amendments to improve Problem Determination and efficient running of the product.
Took part in a wide variety of projects ranging from the creation of MQ Queue Managers and associated objects to Product upgrades and migrations for a large Financial institution primarily on Red Hat Linux and AIX. Also reviewed and upgraded existing procedures such as Queue Manager decommissioning.
Oversaw the upgrade of a client's MQ infrastructure from v8 to v9.2 and IIB v10 to ACE 12 on Red Hat Linux platform as well as assisting in the day-to-day support of these products. Advised on how they can enhance their existing setup and put forward recommendations.
Part of a team providing support to clients' IBM MQ infrastructure and in-house File Transfer application from a BAU and project perspective, contributing to the design and implementation of new functionality to MQ and File Transfers on Solaris and Windows.
