Project Manager (Change & Transformation) 📍 London – Hybrid 💰 £29.13 per hour PAYE / £39.77 per hour Umbrella 📅 3-4 Month Contract Initially We’re working with a leading London-based higher education institution to recruit a Project Manager to support the delivery of key strategic initiatives across the faculty. This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on Project Manager or Programme/Project Officer with experience delivering people-focused change projects in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment. The role * You’ll be responsible for leading the coordination and delivery of high-impact initiatives focused on organisational improvement, staff experience, and fair and transparent processes. * Working across academic and professional services teams, you’ll take ownership of project planning, stakeholder engagement, and delivery — ensuring projects are implemented effectively and drive meaningful outcomes. Key responsibilities * Lead end-to-end delivery of projects, from planning through to implementation * Develop and manage project plans, timelines, risk logs, and governance processes * Coordinate activity across multiple departments and stakeholders * Facilitate workshops, meetings, and engagement sessions * Monitor progress, identify risks, and implement solutions * Produce clear reports, updates, and briefings for senior stakeholders * Support the successful adoption of new processes and ways of working What we’re looking for * Proven experience delivering projects or programmes in a complex organisation (e.g. higher education, NHS, public sector, or similar) * Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work across teams and levels * Experience supporting or delivering change, transformation, or improvement initiatives * Solid understanding of project management tools and approaches (planning, risk, governance, reporting) * Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently * Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Desirable * Experience working in a higher education or research environment * Exposure to people, culture, or organisational change initiatives * Understanding of governance structures in large organisations Why apply? * Work on meaningful projects that impact staff experience and organisational effectiveness * Join a collaborative and forward-thinking environment * Opportunity to contribute to long-term strategic change within a respected institution If you’re a proactive Project Manager who enjoys working in people-focused, stakeholder-heavy environments, we’d love to hear from you
