Psychology Graduate / Student Teaching Assistant (SEN & SEMH Schools) Location: South Bristol Setting: SEN & SEMH Schools (Key Stages 1–4) Full-Time | Term-Time Only Daily Pay: £89 – £100 ️ Start Date: Immediate & Ongoing Opportunities Apply Your Psychology Knowledge in a Real-World Setting Are you studying psychology or recently graduated? Looking to gain hands-on experience working with children and young people? We are recruiting motivated and compassionate individuals to support pupils in Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional & Mental Health (SEMH) schools across South Bristol. This role is ideal for aspiring educational psychologists, clinical psychologists, therapists, or mental health professionals looking to build practical experience in a supportive school environment. You’ll be working with pupils aged 5–16 who may experience: Autism (ASD) and additional learning needs Social, emotional, and mental health challenges Behavioural needs and dysregulation ️ Communication and interaction difficulties Role Overview Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm (may vary by school) Schedule: Monday to Friday (term-time only) Progression: Opportunities for long-term and permanent roles Key Responsibilities Provide 1:1 or small group support for pupils with SEN/SEMH needs Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies Apply psychological understanding to build rapport and trust Work closely with teachers and SENCOs to support learning Adapt activities to meet individual needs and EHCP targets Create a safe, consistent, and nurturing environment Who We’re Looking For Studying or graduated in Psychology (or a related field) Passionate about mental health, behaviour, and child development Calm, resilient, and patient approach Strong communication and interpersonal skills ️ Experience with young people is beneficial but not essential Why Join Teaching Personnel?
