Job Description

Senior EC&I Designer Location: Warrington (Hybrid Working) Rate: £53.00 – £65.00 per hour (Inside IR35) Hours: 40 hours per week Security Clearance: SC Clearance required Sector: Nuclear The Opportunity We are recruiting for a Senior EC&I Designer to support the delivery of complex nuclear engineering projects within a highly regulated environment. This is a key role where you will lead Electrical, Control & Instrumentation design activities, provide technical leadership to a multi-disciplinary team, and ensure high-quality, compliant design outputs across the full project lifecycle. Key Responsibilities Lead EC&I design activities across nuclear projects from concept through to detailed and production design Allocate and review work, ensuring all deliverables meet nuclear industry standards and regulatory requirements Produce and check EC&I design outputs, including: Schematics Wiring diagrams Loop diagrams Cable schedules General arrangements Ensure coordination with mechanical, civil, and other engineering disciplines Provide technical leadership and act as the EC&I subject matter expert Support design reviews and ensure designs meet functional, safety, and compliance requirements Resolve technical queries relating to manufacturing, installation, and commissioning Interface with clients and stakeholders, providing technical updates and solutions Contribute to continuous improvement and lessons learned processes Support tendering and business development activities where requiredAbout You Essential: HNC/HND (or equivalent) in Electrical, Control & Instrumentation or related discipline Proven experience within an EC&I design environment Experience working on nuclear projects or within highly regulated industries Strong experience producing detailed EC&I design documentation Good understanding of electrical and instrumentation standards Incorporated Engineer status (or working towards) Experience leading or mentoring multi-disciplinary design teams Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills Active SC Clearance (or eligible to obtain)Desirable: Familiarity with nuclear industry standards and safety case requirements Experience supporting design within safety-critical environments Membership of a relevant professional institutionGet in touch now If you're seeking a new opportunity and think you have the relevant skills and experience our client is looking for, then this could be the opportunity for you, so apply now or contact Stuart Cooper via LinkedIn.
