GCSE tutor with SEN experience

Job Description

About the Role: You will be working on a one-to-one or small group basis, providing tailored academic support to students preparing for their GCSEs. Many of the learners will have Special Educational Needs (SEN), gaps in education, or require a more nurturing and flexible approach to learning. Key Responsibilities: Deliver engaging and personalised GCSE-level lessons (core subjects preferred) Adapt teaching strategies to meet individual SEN and learning needs Build positive, trusting relationships with students Monitor progress and provide feedback to relevant stakeholders Support students in developing confidence and independence in their learningRequirements: Proven experience working with children or young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN) Strong knowledge of the GCSE curriculum Patience, empathy, and a proactive attitude Ability to plan and deliver creative and engaging sessions Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)Desirable: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant tutoring experience Experience supporting vulnerable children, including those with SEMH needs or those who are looked afterThis role offers flexible working hours and the chance to have a direct, positive impact on students who need additional support to achieve their potential.
