SEND Reform Project Lead South Yorkshire (Local Authority) £450+ per day (TBC) | Full-time (Flexible on hours) (1–2 days/week in the office) | ASAP start The Opportunity We’re supporting a local authority in South Yorkshire to appoint an experienced SEND Reform Project Lead to lead the development of a Local Area SEND Improvement Plan, with final delivery required by 19th June. This is a high-impact, short-term assignment focused on shaping strategic improvement across education, health, and social care. Key Responsibilities Lead the development of a comprehensive SEND Area Improvement Plan aligned to statutory requirements Review and synthesise key documentation, including: SEND Self-Evaluation Framework (SEF) Service performance and delivery data Financial data (last 5 years) Existing strategies and transformation plans Engage stakeholders across education, health, social care, and parent/carer groups Drive collaboration and shared ownership across partners Translate complex information into clear, structured plans and templates Deliver the final plan by 19th June, with regular progress updatesAbout You Proven experience as a SEND/SEN Manager or Lead within a local authority Strong understanding of SEND systems, inspections (Ofsted/CQC), and local area frameworks Track record of producing high-quality strategic or improvement plans Excellent stakeholder engagement and partnership working skills Strong analytical and written communication abilities Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment
