I'm working closely with the Council for a Traffic Engineer, where you’ll design and deliver a wide range of traffic and highway engineering projects that improve safety, sustainability and transport across the county.
You'll be responsible for:
* Managing traffic engineering projects from design through to delivery (urban + rural).
* Producing design solutions, drawings, calculations, cost estimates and contract documents.
* Working with internal teams, project managers, contractors and stakeholders to coordinate successful delivery.
* Using CAD and specialist design software to create high‑quality engineering outputs.
* Applying engineering standards, health & safety legislation, and best practice throughout the project lifecycle.
* Acting as Site Supervisor or NEC4 Project Manager during construction.
* Leading project teams and supporting junior engineers.
Ideal requirements:
* Experience in highway/traffic engineering, including sustainable transport and active travel projects.
* Ability to manage resources, coordinate programmes, and supervise colleagues.
* Strong understanding of design standards, CDM regulations, and civil engineering contracts.
* Proficiency in AutoCAD and relevant technical software.
* Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
* HND or degree in Civil Engineering (preferable)
The role requires office presence 1-2 times per week
