Young People Support Worker – West London
Are you passionate about supporting vulnerable young people and helping them build safer, more independent futures?
We are seeking compassionate and reliable Support Workers to work with young people aged 16+ in supported accommodation and independent living environments. Many of the individuals we support may have experienced trauma, instability, exploitation, or other complex challenges, and require consistent guidance and encouragement.
This opportunity is ideal for candidates who can confidently manage challenging situations, maintain professional boundaries, and build positive, supportive relationships while prioritising safeguarding and wellbeing.
The Role
As a Support Worker, you will assist young people with daily living, emotional wellbeing, personal development, and independence skills. You will provide practical and emotional support while encouraging positive outcomes and healthy decision-making.
You will also work closely with colleagues and partner professionals to help ensure a safe and supportive environment for the young people in your care.
Key Responsibilities
Supporting young people within supported accommodation services
Encouraging independence, confidence, and life skills
Building positive and professional relationships
Responding calmly and appropriately to challenging behaviour
Using de-escalation and conflict-management techniques where needed
Maintaining accurate records, reports, and safeguarding documentation
Promoting wellbeing, safety, and personal development
Working alongside external professionals and support agencies
Essential Requirements
Previous experience supporting young people or vulnerable individuals
Understanding of safeguarding procedures and professional responsibilities
Ability to manage challenging behaviour confidently and professionally
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Patient, resilient, and empathetic approach
Ability to maintain clear professional boundaries
Genuine commitment to supporting vulnerable young people
