The Opportunity We are recruiting for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a leading specialist construction and infrastructure contractor delivering complex industrial, commercial, and technically demanding projects across the UK. The business has a strong reputation for delivering large-scale construction, fit out, infrastructure, and specialist engineering schemes within highly regulated environments. Their work spans major industrial facilities, energy projects, critical infrastructure, and technically challenging commercial developments. This role offers the opportunity to work on a major infrastructure scheme within one of the UK’s most significant engineering and construction programmes. The Role We are seeking a commercially strong Senior Quantity Surveyor with a solid construction background to procure and manage the internal fit-out supply chain across four technically complex buildings under an NEC3 TSC Option C contract. The fit-out package, valued at approximately £25m, excludes M&E works and includes highly specialist construction elements associated with critical infrastructure and operational resilience facilities. The successful candidate will work alongside an established commercial team including another Senior QS and an Assistant QS, supporting procurement, subcontract management, contract administration, and commercial delivery throughout the lifecycle of the project. This is not a standard fit-out scheme and requires an individual with strong practical construction understanding alongside commercial capability. The ideal candidate will understand how buildings are physically constructed and be confident managing technically challenging packages within a live construction environment. Key Responsibilities Managing commercial delivery of major internal fit-out packages Procuring and managing subcontractors and specialist supply chain partners Administering NEC contracts and managing commercial processes Managing valuations, variations, payments, and final accounts Supporting cost reporting, forecasting, and financial controls Working closely with operational and project delivery teams Managing subcontractor performance and commercial risk Supporting programme delivery and change management processes Ensuring accurate commercial reporting throughout the project lifecycle Requirements Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within construction or major projects Strong practical construction knowledge and understanding of building methodologies Experience managing fit-out, commercial, industrial, or infrastructure packages Excellent subcontract procurement and supply chain management capability Strong communication and stakeholder management skills NEC contract experience preferred but not essential Experience within regulated, industrial, or technically complex environments beneficial Project & Working Arrangement Based across Bridgwater and Hinkley Point project locations Combination of office, site, and limited flexible working arrangements Long-term programme with future project opportunities beyond current scope What’s on Offer Long-term flagship infrastructure project Technically challenging and unique construction environment Strong pipeline of future work Competitive salary or freelance package Opportunity to work within a highly experienced commercial and project team
