Teaching Assistant - 1:1 SEND Support (Lower KS1) - Tameside
Tradewind Recruitment are currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming Primary School in Tameside. This rewarding role involves providing 1:1 support for a pupil in Lower Key Stage 1 with additional SEND requirements.
The successful candidate will have previous experience working within a Primary School setting and be confident supporting children with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and non-verbal communication needs. This is a full-time position, offering the opportunity to make a real difference to a child's educational and personal development.
The Role:
Providing dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil in Lower KS1
Supporting a child with autism and non-verbal communication needs
Assisting with the pupil's learning, engagement and social development
Implementing strategies to support communication and emotional regulation
Working closely with the class teacher, SENDCo and wider school staff
Providing personal care when required
Creating a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment
The Ideal Candidate:
Has previous experience working within a Primary School setting
Has experience supporting children with SEND, particularly autism
Is confident working with non-verbal pupils and using communication strategies
Is patient, caring and resilient
Has excellent communication and behaviour management skills
Is comfortable providing personal care
