As a Learning Support Assistant, you will support students aged 11–18 both inside and outside the classroom, helping them to achieve their academic, social, and emotional goals. The Role As a Learning Support Assistant, your responsibilities will include: Supporting students on a 1:1 basis and in small groups Assisting pupils with Additional Learning Needs (ALN) and Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs) and behavioural challenges Encouraging student engagement, confidence, and participation in lessons Assisting teachers with classroom management and learning activities Promoting a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment Building strong relationships with students, staff, and parents Ideal Candidate We are looking for candidates who are: Passionate about working with young people Interested in education, teaching, psychology, youth work, or SEN support Patient, resilient, and proactive Strong communicators with excellent interpersonal skills Looking to gain classroom experience before pursuing teacher training or further education Able to travel to schools across the Caerphilly area Willing to complete mandatory training and compliance checks Experience That Transfers Well Applications are encouraged from: Graduates Aspiring Teachers Youth Workers Support Workers Care Workers Sports Coaches Nursery Practitioners Residential Care Staff Psychology Graduates Education Graduates Learning Mentors Behaviour Mentors No previous school experience is required.
