English Teacher (Full-Time) Ascot Area | Secondary School Setting Start Date: September | MPS/UPS Supply Desk is proud to be working in partnership with a welcoming and high-achieving secondary school in the Ascot area to recruit a motivated and inspiring English Teacher. This role is well-suited to a creative and dedicated teacher who enjoys fostering a love for literature and language, while helping students develop strong analytical and communication skills. The Role As an English Teacher, you will deliver engaging and well-structured lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (with potential for KS5, depending on experience). You will play a key role in supporting students to achieve their full potential, both academically and personally. Key Responsibilities Plan and deliver high-quality English lessons that engage and challenge learners Teach a broad curriculum including reading, writing, and spoken language skills Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of all pupils, ensuring inclusive practice Assess, track, and monitor student progress, providing clear feedback Prepare students for GCSE examinations (and A-Level where applicable) Create a positive and focused classroom environment conducive to learning Support students in developing critical thinking and analytical skills Contribute to the wider life of the school, including enrichment activities Work collaboratively with colleagues within the English department Build strong relationships with students, parents, and staff Requirements Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential Degree in English or a related subject Experience teaching English at secondary level (KS3 and KS4 minimum) Strong curriculum knowledge and understanding of assessment frameworks Excellent classroom management skills Passion for English and a commitment to student achievement Strong communication and organisational skills Ability to commute to Great Missenden and work full-time from September Desirable Skills & Experience Experience teaching KS5 (A-Level English) Track record of strong student outcomes Ability to contribute to curriculum development Experience supporting a range of abilities, including SEN and EAL pupils Why Apply?
