Job Description

Senior EC&I Engineer Location: Hybrid – 2 days per week on site in Capenhurst, Cheshire or from the Design office in Chorley, Lancashire / 3 days working from home Contract: 12-Month Contract Rate: £55.00 per hour (Umbrella) – Inside IR35 Hours: 37.5 hours per week Security Clearance: SC Clearance Required The Role We are looking for an experienced EC&I Engineer to join a multidisciplinary engineering team delivering complex industrial projects. You will be responsible for developing Electrical, Control & Instrumentation designs from concept through to manufacture, testing and commissioning, ensuring solutions are safe, compliant and delivered to programme. Key Responsibilities Produce EC&I design documentation including SLDs, cable schedules, layouts and technical specifications. Develop electrical and control system designs in line with industry standards and client requirements. Produce Functional Safety documentation including FDS, SIDD and Functional Safety Plans. Prepare engineering reports, design substantiation and technical justifications. Generate FAT and SAT documentation and support commissioning activities. Review and check engineering documentation produced internally and by subcontractors. Support manufacturing, testing and site commissioning activities. Manage technical interfaces with suppliers and subcontractors. Create and interpret engineering drawings using AutoCAD.Essential Requirements Degree, HNC/HND or equivalent in Electrical, Control, Instrumentation or related Engineering discipline. Proven EC&I design experience within industrial, energy, process, manufacturing or regulated environments. Strong knowledge of electrical systems design, LV control gear and control systems. Experience producing technical reports and engineering documentation. Competent user of Microsoft Office.
