KS2 1:1 Teaching Assistant / Learning Support Assistant (SEN Preferred) Potters Bar, Hertfordshire | September 2026 Start | £95-£115 per day Part-Time (half days) or Full-Time | 2-Term Temporary Contract with Potential Permanent Opportunity Tradewind Recruitment are delighted to be working with a welcoming and inclusive Primary School in Potters Bar, who are seeking a dedicated KS2 1:1 Teaching Assistant / Learning Support Assistant to join their team from September 2026. This role is initially offered on a two-term temporary contract, with the possibility of becoming a permanent position for the right candidate. The school is open to both part-time and full-time applicants, offering flexibility to suit the successful candidate. The Role As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting a Key Stage 2 pupil, helping them to access learning, build confidence, and achieve their full potential. You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver personalised support throughout the school day. Your responsibilities will include: Providing dedicated 1:1 support for a KS2 pupil Supporting learning both in and out of the classroom Implementing strategies and interventions recommended by the SEN team Encouraging independence, engagement, and positive behaviour Building a positive, trusting relationship with the pupil and their family Working collaboratively with teachers and support staff to ensure the best outcomes Pay & Working Pattern £95-£115 per day, depending on experience Part-time or full-time opportunities available Term-time only September 2026 start Two-term temporary contract with potential for a permanent role What We're Looking For The ideal candidate will have: Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant Experience supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN), ideally within a primary school setting A calm, patient and nurturing approach Excellent communication and teamwork skills A proactive attitude and genuine passion for supporting children's learning and wellbeing Willingness to undertake an Enhanced DBS check Why Join This School?
