Lead CE&I Engineer Warrington or Sellafield (Hybrid - Ideally 3 Days On Site, Flexibility for the Right Candidate) £61-£67 per Hour (Inside IR35) Long-Term Contract Lead the Delivery of a Major Nuclear Infrastructure Upgrade An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Lead CE&I Engineer to join a high-profile programme supporting the THORP Receipt & Storage (TR&S) Cooling System Replacement Project at Sellafield. This critical project will deliver a modern, resilient pond cooling system, ensuring the continued safe storage of spent nuclear fuel while meeting stringent safety case, resilience and legionella compliance requirements. We're looking for a technically strong engineering leader who can drive CE&I design delivery, manage key stakeholders and lead multidisciplinary engineering teams through every stage of the project lifecycle. The Role As Lead CE&I Engineer, you'll take ownership of multiple work packages, providing technical leadership while ensuring delivery to programme, budget and quality expectations. You'll be responsible for: Leading CE&I design delivery through the Sellafield Gated Process Managing internal engineering teams and coordinating external design contractors Producing engineering estimates across all project phases Reviewing and approving engineering drawings and technical documentation Undertaking plant walkdowns to establish and verify plant configuration Defining engineering requirements and supporting validation and verification activities Representing the project during supplier meetings, Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) and Customer Acceptance Tests (CATs) Leading and presenting at multidisciplinary design reviews Collaborating with engineering disciplines, project teams and key stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery What You'll Bring You'll have a proven track record of leading CE&I design within complex, highly regulated environments, ideally across major nuclear projects. Your experience will include: Leading engineering delivery through multiple project lifecycle stages Delivering CE&I design packages from user requirements through to engineered solutions Managing multidisciplinary engineering teams and external suppliers Stakeholder engagement across engineering, project and client organisations Producing and reviewing high-quality engineering documentation You'll also possess a strong understanding of the regulatory framework governing the UK nuclear industry, including: Nuclear Installations Act Site Licence Conditions Health & Safety at Work Act (HASAWA) Electricity at Work Regulations (EWR) CDM Regulations LOLER Pressure Equipment Directive (PED) Ionising Radiations Regulations (IRR) About You You'll ideally have: Degree qualification in Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Control & Instrumentation or a related discipline Extensive CE&I design and delivery experience within nuclear or another highly regulated industry Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills The ability to lead engineering teams while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality and technical excellence Why Join? £61-£67 per hour (Inside IR35) Hybrid working from Warrington or Sellafield Ideally 3 days on site, with flexibility available for the right candidate Long-term contract on one of the UK's most significant nuclear infrastructure programmes Lead a safety-critical project with real national importance Work alongside some of the UK's leading nuclear engineering professionals If you're an experienced Lead CE&I Engineer looking to make an impact on a landmark nuclear project, we'd love to hear from you.
