Job Description

Experienced in marine, harbour, or boat work and looking for a new opportunity? Working Pattern & Earning Potential: This role operates on a rota basis including day shifts (06:00–18:00) and night shifts (18:00–06:00), with core working hours and on call periods. In addition to the base hourly rate, there is strong additional earning potential: * £20.00 per hour for work carried out whilst off duty * Per-mooring payments depending on experience level: * £55 per mooring/unmooring (Trainee) * £90 per mooring/unmooring (Certified Operative) * £110 per mooring/unmooring (Team Leader) * Mileage claims available for eligible off-duty travel (up to 26 miles one way) Key Responsibilities: • Operate and assist with the maintenance of marine craft used in port operations • Support vessel arrivals and departures, including mooring and unmooring activities • Carry out general marine duties including debris recovery, oil spill response and launch maintenance • Undertake general port maintenance including grounds work, painting and equipment upkeep • Complete operational records and documentation accurately • Support wider port operations and respond to additional duties as required Requirements: Essential • Proven experience in marine, harbour, port, boating, fishing or similar operational environments • Confidence working safely around water and marine equipment • Strong awareness of health & safety procedures • Ability to work in a physically demanding, outdoor environment • Flexible approach to rota based working patterns Desirable • Experience operating small vessels or workboats • Background in marina, harbour, Royal Navy, Merchant Navy or similar • Relevant marine qualifications or tickets • Experience in remote or coastal working environments What’s on Offer: • Temporary, 5 month opportunity with extension potential • £150 - £160 day rate • Strong additional earning opportunities through on call and mooring payments • Training and development within marine operations • Progression opportunities towards Coxswain qualification pathway • Unique working environment in the Scottish Highlands About You: • Reliable, practical and safety-conscious • Experienced in hands-on marine or port-based work • Comfortable working in all weather conditions • A strong team player who can also work independently • Adaptable, proactive, and willing to take responsibility in operational settings How to Apply: For any questions ahead of applying, contact Lyndsey at Global Highland
