Project Lead - Data Centre Construction This international engineering and construction contractor specialises in the delivery of large-scale mission critical and data centre projects across Europe. With a strong pipeline of hyperscale data centre developments currently in delivery, the company has built a reputation for high-quality programme execution, technical expertise, and delivering complex projects safely and efficiently. Due to continued expansion across the Nordic region, they are now seeking an experienced Project Lead for a major data centre project in Belgium . The Role: Project Lead Reporting to the Construction Director, the Project Lead will take overall responsibility for programme delivery, commercial performance, subcontractor management, and client coordination on a large-scale data centre construction project. This is a senior leadership role requiring strong experience managing multidisciplinary construction teams within fast-paced mission critical environments. The successful Project Lead will oversee project schedules, budgets, procurement activities, subcontractor coordination, and key stakeholder engagement while ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme, and to the highest quality standards. Must Have Requirements Must have 10 year's experience in a Project Lead, Project Manager, or senior construction leadership role Proven experience required delivering large-scale data centre, mission critical, industrial, or major M&E construction projects Strong commercial and financial management experience required Experience managing subcontractors, consultants, and multidisciplinary project teams Proven ability required managing complex construction programmes and milestone deliveryPreferred Experience Data centre construction experience preferred Experience working on European construction projects beneficial Strong understanding of construction procurement and long-lead equipment management Experience leading client-facing project meetings advantageousNice to Have Engineering or construction-related degree qualification Experience working within live mission critical environments Knowledge of commissioning and turnover processes beneficialKey Responsibilities Manage overall project cost, programme, and delivery from inception through to completion Coordinate subcontractors, consultants, suppliers, and specialist vendors across the project Track and manage critical milestones to maintain programme delivery Lead project coordination meetings with clients and internal stakeholders Review construction proposals, pricing submissions, and scopes of work Monitor project costs, risks, and commercial performance throughout delivery Manage procurement schedules and oversee long-lead equipment delivery programmes Review and validate subcontractor cost estimates and commercial submissions Ensure quality, health & safety, and technical standards are maintained across the project Report regularly to senior management and client teams on project performanceAbout You You are a commercially aware and technically strong construction professional with experience leading major construction or mission critical projects. You have proven leadership ability, strong communication skills, and experience coordinating large multidisciplinary teams in complex live project environments. You understand programme management, subcontractor coordination, procurement, and commercial control while maintaining strong health & safety and quality standards throughout delivery. You are comfortable operating within fast-paced project environments and driving teams to achieve demanding delivery milestones.
