Job Description

Job Title: Building Surveyor (x2 positions) Location: Reading (South region travel required) Charge Rate: c£50 per hour Overview A major national surveying programme is underway, delivering large-scale stock condition surveys and HHSRS assessments across social housing estates. With approximately 4,000 surveys already completed and a further 3,800 scheduled before year end, we are looking to appoint two experienced Building Surveyors to support delivery across the Southern region. This is a field-based role involving regular travel, working as part of an established programme team to ensure accurate and timely completion of surveys. Key Responsibilities * Undertake stock condition surveys and HHSRS assessments across allocated programmes * Use iPads to accurately capture survey data while on site * Complete survey completion documentation (full, partial, external-only, or aborted visits) * Follow standard operating procedures for access attempts, data recording, and reporting * Upload survey data in line with programme requirements * Escalate and report any high-risk health & safety issues * Identify and report damp, mould, and disrepair issues in line with Awaab’s Law requirements * Liaise with the programme team to ensure smooth delivery and accurate reporting Requirements * Degree in Building Surveying or equivalent technical experience * Proven experience delivering stock condition surveys within social housing * Experience completing HHSRS assessments * Strong understanding of Awaab’s Law and associated reporting duties * Confident using iPads and digital data collection tools on site * Full UK driving licence * Willingness to travel, with occasional overnight stays preferred Additional Information * 2 positions available * Field-based role covering Southern UK regions * High-volume national programme with strong pipeline of ongoing work * Opportunity for further engagement on future programmes based on performance and deliver
