About the Role
Immediate starts are available for experienced Class 2 Drivers looking for ongoing day work across Heywood and Middleton. This is a great opportunity to secure regular agency work with well-established businesses, offering competitive rates of pay, weekly PAYE payroll and a variety of driving assignments.
As a Class 2 Driver, you'll work across a range of contracts, including palletised deliveries and collections, the delivery of sheet materials and multi-drop deliveries of packaging products. The varied nature of the work makes this an excellent opportunity for drivers who enjoy different assignments while maintaining consistent daytime hours.
Typical start times are around 7:00am, providing regular day shifts with ongoing opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
As a Class 2 Driver, your duties will include:
Completing palletised deliveries and collections to commercial customers.
Delivering sheet materials, packaging products and other industrial goods.
Carrying out multi-drop deliveries, with up to 11 deliveries per day on some contracts.
Safely securing loads using ratchet straps and approved load restraint equipment.
Assisting with loading and unloading where required, including manual handling of 8ft x 4ft plastic sheet materials on certain contracts.
Conducting daily vehicle safety checks before and after each shift.
Completing delivery paperwork accurately.
Providing a professional and courteous service to customers.
Communicating effectively with transport teams where required.
Working in full compliance with Driver Hours, the Working Time Directive and all road transport regulations.
Requirements
We're looking for reliable and professional Class 2 Drivers who take pride in their work, work safely at all times and provide excellent customer service.
To be considered, you'll need:
A valid Class 2 (Category C) driving licence held for a minimum of 6 months to 1 year.
At least 6 months' Class 2 driving experience.
Experience securing loads using ratchet straps is highly desirable.
A valid Driver CPC Qualification Card.
A valid Digital Tachograph Card.
No more than 6 penalty points.
No DR, DD, CD or IN endorsements, or any convictions resulting in a driving ban or disqualification.
A good understanding of Driver Hours and Working Time Directive regulations.
A good level of physical fitness, as some contracts involve manual handling.
A reliable, flexible and safety-conscious approach to work.
