SEMH Behaviour Support Staff (Full-Time & Day-to-Day Supply) 📍 Shifnal We are recruiting confident, resilient and down-to-earth staff to work within a specialist alternative education setting supporting children and young people with significant trauma and behavioural needs. This is a highly practical, relationship-led environment where staff play a key role in creating safety, structure, and positive engagement for learners who may have experienced disrupted education and complex social, emotional and mental health needs. Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) The Role We are seeking staff for: Full-time, long-term positions Day-to-day / flexible supply cover You will be working with secondary-aged learners (and on some days primary-aged pupils during transition provision), supporting engagement in learning, behaviour regulation, and structured activities. The setting includes: Breakout rooms for core learning (Maths & English) A sports-based engagement approach including a boxing ring for structured physical activity Trauma-informed behaviour support systems Working Hours Monday to Friday 9:30am - 2:30pm What You'll Be Doing Building strong, consistent relationships with pupils Supporting learners with emotional regulation and behaviour management Delivering and supporting structured activities, including sports-based interventions Encouraging engagement in Maths and English sessions Providing calm, confident, consistent adult presence throughout the day Working as part of a team to maintain a safe, supportive environment What We're Looking For Experience working with challenging behaviour is essential Background in sports, coaching, fitness, or physical activity is highly desirable and considered important Confident, grounded personality with strong communication skills Ability to remain calm and consistent in high-pressure situations Genuine commitment to building trust with young people Team players who are reliable, flexible, and proactive Dress Code Sportswear must be worn daily (practical, active clothing suitable for physical engagement and movement-based work) The Right Fit for This Role This role suits people who: Are confident working with complex behaviour Enjoy active, hands-on environments Can build rapport quickly with young people who may struggle to trust adults Are consistent, fair, and resilient in approach Prefer practical engagement over traditional classroom teaching styles Aspire People Limited provides services as an Education Agency and an Education Employment Business.
