SEN Learning Support Assistant Prospero Teaching is recruiting a caring and committed SEN Learning Support Assistant to support pupils in the Salisbury area. This role involves working with children and young people who have a range of additional needs, including autism, ADHD, learning difficulties, communication needs, and social, emotional or behavioural challenges. You will work closely with teachers and support staff to provide tailored support that enables pupils to access learning, build confidence, and make progress both academically and personally. Support may be delivered on a 1:1 basis or within small groups, depending on the needs of the pupils. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning and achieve their potential. The Role: Provide 1:1 support and small‑group interventions for pupils with SEN Support pupils during lessons, activities, and school routines Assist with emotional regulation and behaviour support Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs Encourage pupil engagement, confidence, and independence Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and support staff Promote a positive, inclusive, and structured learning environment Follow safeguarding and school policies consistently Ideal Candidate: Experience working with children, young people, or vulnerable individuals Patient, supportive, and understanding approach Strong communication and interpersonal skills Able to build positive and trusting relationships with pupils Flexible and responsive to varying needs and situations Reliable and able to work effectively as part of a team Backgrounds in SEN, care, youth work, support work, or education welcomed Contract Details: Position: SEN Learning Support Assistant Location: Salisbury Start Date: ASAP Working Pattern: Full‑time, term‑time Pay Rate: £14.25 - £15.66 per hour Key Stages: Primary / Secondary Experience, Training & Safeguarding: SEN or relevant support experience desirable Safeguarding training can be provided Knowledge of SEN strategies beneficial but not essential What Prospero Teaching Offers: Free accredited CPD, including SEN and behaviour management training Ongoing support from a dedicated consultant Opportunities for continued work and progression A rewarding role supporting pupils with additional needs Access to a variety of education opportunities across the local areaIf you're looking for a rewarding SEN Learning Support Assistant role in Salisbury, we'd love to hear from you.
