Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate, patient, and engaging Tutor/Mentor to support a Year 9 student in the BH16 area with Maths and English tuition and overall mentoring. The young person is currently experiencing significant school-based anxiety and has diagnoses of ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), which have presented barriers to accessing mainstream education. The priority for this role is to build a safe, trusting, and positive relationship with the young person. Academic support in Maths and English is important, but creating a secure and supportive environment where the young person feels understood and valued will be the key to success. About the Provision We are supporting this Year 9 student through a gradual reintegration pathway back into education. Initially, support will consist of: Home-based tuition and mentoring Building trust and positive relationships Increasing confidence around learning and educationAs the young person becomes more comfortable, sessions may gradually progress into a school setting, with the long-term aim of helping them feel able to access mainstream education once again. Applicants must: Have a minimum of 6 months' experience working within education, childcare, or a related setting. Be confident planning and delivering engaging Maths and English sessions ( KS3 ). Have experience supporting young people with SEN.
