Pay: £14.10 - £14.42 per hour
We are currently recruiting for a Yard Operative to join a growing and dynamic operation. This hands-on role is ideal for someone with experience in materials handling, stock movement, and outdoor working environments who is looking for a long-term career opportunity.
Working as part of a wider operations team, you will play a key role in ensuring goods are received, stored, and dispatched efficiently while maintaining high standards of safety and organisation across the site.
The Role
As a Yard Operative, your day-to-day duties will include:
Receiving incoming deliveries and preparing outgoing shipments
Operating a Forklift Truck (FLT) to transport materials across the site
Carrying out goods-in checks and ensuring stock records remain accurate
Organising products and materials within designated storage locations
Supporting inventory counts and stock monitoring activities
Maintaining tidy, safe, and efficient working areas
Assisting other departments during busy periods where required
Carrying out general site duties and manual handling tasks
Identifying and reporting any damaged stock, equipment issues, or safety concerns
Working in line with company procedures and health and safety guidelines
What We're Looking For
Essential Requirements
Valid Forklift Truck (FLT) licence
Previous experience in a warehouse, yard, distribution, manufacturing, or similar environment
Strong awareness of workplace health and safety standards
Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team
Good communication and organisational skills
Comfortable performing physical duties, including lifting and moving materials
Dependable, punctual, and committed to delivering high standards
Desirable
Experience working within an engineering or manufacturing setting
GCSEs or equivalent qualifications
