Job Description: Join Our Friendly and Supportive Team We are looking for a caring, reliable, and motivated Support Worker to join our welcoming 11-bed residential care home, supporting adults with Learning Disabilities (LD), Mental Health needs, Autism, and Epilepsy. Our home has a warm, family atmosphere where residents are encouraged to live as independently as possible. About the Role As a Support Worker, you will play an important part in supporting residents to live fulfilling and meaningful lives. Your responsibilities will include: * Providing high-quality, person-centred care and support. * Understanding each resident's individual needs and supporting them appropriately. Reading, understanding, and following individual care plans. * Supporting residents with daily living skills, routines, personal care (where required), and independence. Encouraging residents to develop their confidence and life skills. * Supporting residents with their English language learning where appropriate. * Taking residents out into the community for appointments, shopping, activities, and enjoyable days out. * Supporting with the care of our animals and encouraging residents to take part where appropriate and involving residents in gardening activities. * Completing household duties, including laundry, cleaning, tidying, and helping to maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming home. * Maintaining accurate records and communicating effectively with colleagues. * Promoting dignity, respect, independence, and choice at all times. The ideal candidate will: * Have previous experience working in health and social care or supporting adults with Learning Disabilities, Mental Health needs, Autism, or Epilepsy. * Hold a full UK driving licence and be confident driving residents to appointments, activities, and days out. * Have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. * Be proactive, motivated, and able to use their own initiative. * Treat the home with the same care, pride, and respect as they would their own home. * Have a genuine passion for supporting people to achieve their goals and live fulfilling lives. * Have a love for animals and enjoy helping to care for them as part of everyday life in the home. * Understand the responsibilities of the role and work positively as part of a supportive team. * Be compassionate, patient, reliable, and committed to delivering outstanding care. Shift Patterns We operate a 4-week rolling rota with the following shifts: * 8:00am – 5:00pm * 8:00am – 10:00pm plus sleep-in * 5:00pm – 10:00pm plus sleep-in There are no waking night shifts. All overnight duties are sleep-ins. Expectations * Staff must bring their own lunch and food for their shift. * Personal mobile phones are not permitted during working hours unless authorised for work purposes or during designated breaks. * A positive attitude, flexibility, professionalism, and commitment to delivering high-quality care are essential.
