Job Description

EHCP Mentor Help Young People Achieve Their Potential We're looking for EHCP Mentors to support children and young people across Wiltshire through personalised 1:1 mentoring. Working on behalf of Local Authorities, you'll support learners with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) who require alternative provision or additional support outside of mainstream education. The focus of this role is on building confidence, encouraging engagement, supporting emotional wellbeing, and helping young people work towards their individual EHCP outcomes. Location: Wiltshire Start Date: September Hours: Flexible Pay Rate: £25-£30 per hour Type: 1:1 Mentoring Requirements Minimum 6 months' experience in an educational setting, including mentoring, teaching, tutoring, learning support, youth work, teaching assistant, or similar roles Experience supporting children and young people with SEND is desirable Understanding of EHCPs and personalised support strategies Strong communication and relationship-building skills Patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach Ability to work independently and engage young people positively Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one Driver preferred; alternatively, willingness to travel locally within Wiltshire Who You'll Support You'll work with children and young people with a range of additional needs, including: Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs ADHD Anxiety and school avoidance Communication and interaction needs EHCPs and additional learning needsEvery placement is unique, requiring a tailored approach focused on helping learners develop confidence, resilience, independence, and positive engagement.
