C&I Technician / Chemicals / Manchester / Contract - minimum 6 months / £negotiable / Inside IR35 We are looking for a skilled and motivated Controls & Instrumentation (C&I) Technician to join an Upper Tier COMAH site. This is a key role supporting the safe, reliable, and compliant operation of high-hazard process plant equipment. You will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving, control and instrumentation systems, playing a vital part in keeping the site running efficiently and safely. Working within a small, close-knit engineering team, you’ll contribute to both day-to-day maintenance and longer-term improvement projects (Installations). Key Responsibilities As a C&I Technician, your responsibilities will include: * Carrying out planned preventative and breakdown maintenance on instrumentation and control systems within a chemical manufacturing environment * Diagnosing faults and carrying out corrective repairs to minimise downtime * Working in full compliance with site health, safety, and environmental standards, including the Permit to Work system * Managing work orders, preventive maintenance activities, and time recording through the Engineering Management System * Supporting wider engineering activities across the site as required * Fault-finding on PLCs, DCS * Maintenance across field instrumentation (level, temp, flow, pressure). * Instrument calibrations (Analyser exposure - desirable) Qualifications & Certifications Essential: * NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical Installation or a related discipline * CompEx Ex01–Ex06 (Desirable) Benefits: * We are open to discussing rates * Minimum 6 months work with likelihood to extend
