Service Manager

Job Description

Central Recruitment is working with a prominent national homelessness charity, whose work includes supporting and accommodating young people. Our client is currently recruiting for a Service Manager to work in the Durham area at a service which provides a range of support to young people at risk of homelessness. * 37.5 hours per week * Monday - Friday, between the hours of 8AM - 8PM * Usual working hours: 9AM - 5PM * Temporary: approx. 3 months * £20.28 per hour (£17.63 per hour, with £2.65 holiday pay) Please note: you will be based across two accommodation sites which have 5 units each, and 7 outreach flats. Key responsibilities: * Manage a team of Progression Coaches, Night Coaches, and Outreach Workers * Build and maintain relationships with commissioners, stakeholders, and partner organisations * Ensure building safety through risk assessments, health and safety checks, and reporting * Liaise with internal departments to support effective service delivery * Monitor and manage budgets in collaboration with finance leadership * Deliver high standards of support for young people and effective housing management, meeting KPIs * Apply Acceptance and Commitment Therapy principles to support clients’ development and goals * Ensure compliance with all regulatory and quality standards, including Ofsted requirements What we’re looking for: * Experience leading teams, setting goals, and driving continuous service improvement * Committed to developing and motivating staff through mentoring, coaching, and feedback * Strong analytical skills to assess complex situations, manage risks, and implement solutions * Excellent communication with diverse stakeholders, including clients and external partners * Proven ability to build and maintain internal and external relationships * Data-driven decision-making using reports and KPIs Further requirements: In order to register with Central Recruitment Services for temporary agency work, candidates must meet the following criteria: * Current valid right to work in the UK * Minimum 12 months’ of paid experience in a front line social care role within the last 3 years* (unless recruitment criteria states otherwise) * A fully enhanced DBS either registered on the DBS update service or issued within the last 12 months, or willingness to apply for one through Central (at a cost of £60) * Employment or education history to cover the last 5 years which can be verified through the referencing process How to apply: If you feel that you fully meet the above outlined criteria for this role and would like apply for this post, please forward your CV for consideration. *Please note the outlined experience is the 'minimum' first stage criteria, and we will therefore be unable to consider your application unless you are able to demonstrate a relevant work history in line with this position
