Clerk of Works – Planned & External Works
The Role
We’re looking for an experienced Clerk of Works to join a growing planned works team delivering a £700k annual programme across social housing.
You’ll be responsible for ensuring quality on-site across a range of external works, holding contractors to account and making sure projects are delivered to the right standard, first time.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Carrying out site inspections across:
* External decking works
* Roofline works (fascias, soffits, gutters)
* Cyclical decoration and refurbishments
* Ensuring works meet specifications, H&S standards, and regulations
* Identifying defects, managing snagging, and driving quality improvements
* Monitoring contractor performance and progress
* Reporting on site quality and liaising with internal teams
What We’re Looking For
- Experience as a Clerk of Works or Site Inspector
- Background in social housing / planned maintenance
- Strong knowledge of external works and cyclical programmes
- Confident managing contractors and challenging poor quality
- Good understanding of H&S and building regulations
