The Opportunity
Bedford Borough Council is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Social Worker to join its dedicated Children’s Safeguarding Team. This is a vital role where your expertise will directly impact the safety, wellbeing, and long-term outcomes of children and families.
This position offers a flexible hybrid working model, allowing you to balance office-based collaboration with remote working.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage a varied caseload involving complex safeguarding concerns
* Undertake assessments, planning, and intervention in line with statutory frameworks
* Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners to ensure the best outcomes for children
* Prepare high-quality reports for court proceedings and case conferences
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records
Requirements
* Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration
* Significant experience within Children’s Services, particularly safeguarding
* Strong knowledge of legislation, statutory guidance, and best practice
* Ability to manage complex cases with confidence and professionalism
* Excellent communication and analytical skills
